NA 009 Information and Documentation Standards Committee
The DIN Standards Committee on Information and Documentation (NABD) is responsible for the standardization of practices relating to libraries, documentation and information centres, indexing and abstracting services, archives, museums, information science and publishing industries. NABD represents Germany in these areas of work in European and International standardization committees, namely in ISO/TC 46 "Information and documentation". On 1 January 2005 NABD took over the Secretariat of ISO/TC 46/SC 8 "Quality - Statistics and Performance Evaluation" which has the scope of standardization of practices relating to the collection of statistics and performance indicators for information organizations and content providers. NABD develops national and international standards in the following focal areas: Data elements, transliteration, library management, quality, performance indicators for libraries, numbering systems, coding systems, preservation, archives and records management.
